Work

I’ve written software professionally for about 13 years so far, working primarily on web applications and the adjacent. I try to avoid being constrained to any particular part of a typical web stack (I will most likely show some frustration if you refer to me as a frontend/backend developer), rather I’ll adapt to whatever needs working on.

When collaborating with others on software I value attention to detail, written communication skills, curiosity, and willingness to put in effort.

It’s important to me that my teammates think about how their responsibilities to and impact on other people and the wider world. We should ask questions like “why does this need to exist” and “how can this be misused” whenever we are approaching a problem with the intent of making more software. Software changes often and evolves rapidly which can be exciting, however I don’t believe we are good enough as an industry at asking these questions.

I might occasionally write something work related, which you will find below and in other places as you explore this site.
